The Wellesley Community Children’s Center’s (WCCC) After School Program seeks qualified teachers to staff a new kindergarten program!

We are looking for teachers who:
Are passionate about teaching
Possess patience, empathy and a supportive attitude toward children and their families
Have strong communication and collaboration skills
Have experience developing, implementing, and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Can create and implement emergent curriculum and individualize learning
Are flexible and able to adapt to program and schedule changes
Ideal candidates are able to switch between in-person and remote instruction as needed and are experienced with remote/hybrid learning and online platforms such as SeeSaw, Google Classroom, and Zoom.
Possess strong classroom management skills
Work well as a part of a team
Are able to work summers in the Early Childhood Program (preferred but not required)
Job Responsibilities include:
Classroom supervision and management
Observation and assessment of young children
Curriculum planning and implementation
Design and upkeep of the classroom environment
Strong writing skills—conference reports, parent communication and newsletters
Supervision and training of assistant teachers and classroom teacher
Following cleaning and sanitizing procedures
Other Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required (Early Education or Elementary Education preferred)
Meet EEC preschool teacher requirements
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Early Childhood licensure a plus (pre-kindergarten through second grade)
Have experience working with kindergarten-age children
Minimum of one year teaching experience, former kindergarten teaching experience a plus
Are experienced with Teaching Strategies Gold (preferred)
Must successfully pass a MA Background Records Check (CORI, SORI, DCF, and Fingerprinting)
Must be physically able to perform the role of a teacher of young, active children
